While Volta is able to subsidize some of the operations and maintenance costs through media, our main goal is to make the network accessible to as many people as possible.
Asking all drivers to pay for their own energy encourages everyone to use only what they need and let the next driver in once they’ve charged. We’re only transitioning our DC Fast chargers currently, so our network of over 2,000 L2 chargers are still free to use.
